Welcome to the Job Commentary

Job is one of the most fascinating yet puzzling books of the Bible. This commentary attempts to place the book in its historical context and to understand the author, his audience, and his purpose in writing it.

Please note that my conclusions about the author are speculative; however, they do make sense of Job in the context of the Jewish exile and provide insight into why the author wrote the way he did. I suggest taking a 'Maybe, we'll see' approach.
